The Self-Publishing Conference is the UK’s longest-established dedicated self-publishing event. The conference offers authors a chance to find out about a wide range of publishing options, to hear from and question those who work within the thriving self-publishing world and to network with fellow authors, many of whom will already be experienced self-publishers.

Conference

Why should you attend?

The informal event aims to educate, inform and inspire authors who are self-publishing their work, or who are considering it as a route to publication. The day attracts a wide variety of authors, from fiction to children’s, non-fiction to business, and is structured so that delegates can choose the sessions that are the most relevant to them.

As well as the sessions throughout the day, authors will have plenty of opportunities to network, ask questions of experts and connect with fellow authors for a day full of knowledge gathering.

Tickets get you access to a wide range of expert-led sessions and workshops, keynote speakers, networking opportunities, a 5-star lunch, refreshments throughout the day and a drinks reception in the evening.

Learning from experts in the sessions and getting to know other authors is surprisingly hard work. So, we make sure that we always line up a delicious hot lunch alongside snacks and coffee throughout the day. Plus each author will take away a bag full of freebies.

What have delegates said about the conference?

For anyone with a curiosity about publishing a book and getting your work out there this is an event not to be missed. There are world class speakers who are experts in their fields, authors galore who have been through the process and sharing of best practice that makes the buzz and atmosphere one of enthusiasm and encouragement. It’s infectious.

The conference has now twice, for me, been a chance to meet and get to know other indie authors and to feel inspired amongst like-minded writers who’ve made the active decision to not be traditionally published. The team are all aiming for the same thing; it’s patently obvious they want their authors to be excited about their novels and non-fiction work.

A fantastic, friendly day with lots of extremely useful sessions covering a wide variety of topics. It is also a great opportunity to chat with other writers and industry experts. I would highly recommend the annual conference for anyone thinking about publishing, whatever the genre.

Whether you are a new or a seasoned writer, the self-publishing conference should feature on your yearly events calendar. It's an opportunity to find out more about the publishing world and to meet people at different stages of their writing journey. You'll leave the event feeling empowered and with a clearer understanding of how to navigate your publishing journey.

For me, the conference is a highlight of my year as an author, reinvigorating and refreshing my passion for writing novels. Its value lies not only in the dynamic and informative seminars and talks, but in the chance to network and talk with others who are similarly enthusiastic about writing in the most friendly and inclusive of environments.

All in all, a wonderful event, and one I would fully recommend to any writers thinking about the next step into the publishing world, whether that is through self-publishing, hybrid-publishing or even traditional publishing route.
